Travel Info: The Philippines consists of a total of 7107 islands, of which 3144 are named and about 880 inhabited. Only eleven of these islands have an area of more than 2,500 km²; the largest are Luzon, Mindanao, Samar, Negros, Mindoro, Panay and Palawan.
Fantastically beautiful island Mindoro
With a size of approximately 10,000 square kilometres, Mindoro is the seventh largest of all the islands and lies in the west of the Philippine island kingdom. The interior is a largely unexplored, with dense, often impenetrable jungle overgrown and thus partially inaccessible mountain country, which rises to almost 2600 meters above sea level. In this mountainous country the most primitive natural people of the Mangyans still lives. This mountainous country is also the only area in the world where the tamaraw buffalo, a special water buffalo species, is native.
Sablayan - Nearby town with bus service and market
Travelers arriving by boat will be guided by a lighthouse to the pier in a sheltered bay. This lighthouse is the old landmark of Sablayan to the outside. In addition to the excellent climatic conditions, the city is also an insider tip in many other respects. A characteristic of the country, very lively and abundant market attracts you during your stay repeatedly in your spell. The small fishing port is just as typical of Sablayan as the many tricycles, such as the broad mouth of the Sabang River and above the beautiful sunset moods.
